Discipleship and Growth
Join us this Lenten Season for multiple opportunities to grow in your faith and discipleship with the Lord with two great Lenten studies as well as Lenten services offered each Wednesday night. Our Wednesday 9:15 A.M. Bible Study at First in Cresco will be studying what it means to spend 40 days fasting as a way of sharing in solidarity with the poor. This will be a passionate journey of radical faith, personal action solidarity and extravagant grace. This radical journey of self-examination, discipline, and renewed focus on Jesus will change our lives and the lives of millions of needy brothers and sisters all over the world. We will be reading the book A Place at the Table by Chris Seay, as we spend time discussing our fasts and challenges we encounter along the way. This study will not only challenge you spiritually but also physically and emotionally.
You will also have the opportunity to join us Sunday evenings at 6:00 P.M. at Zion for our Lenten study 24 Hours That Changed the World by Adam Hamilton. We will be watching a video series in which Adam Hamilton will guide us on a journey through the last 24 hours of Jesus' life. This study will help you to experience and understand the significance of Jesus' death and resurrection in a new and closer encounter.
Both studies are offered for your growth in discipleship. Join us at these studies as together we grow in Love of God and help one another become stronger disciples of the Lord. If you are planning to attend the Wednesday Bible Study, please let Pastor Kayla know so that the correct amount of books can be ordered. Books are $10 and only needed for the Wednesday study. Sundays will be mostly video and discussion. All are invited to both studies.
