2 Corinthians 9:6 says this: "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." This is the verse that comes before the well known, "God loves a cheerful giver." It gets overlooked because of that, but the two are hand in glove.The reason you can be a cheerful giver is because you cannot out give God. God tells the Hebrew people through the prophets, "Put me to the test and see if it is not true." You cannot out give God. It is His desire to bless you in ways we cannot begin to comprehend.
So as we enter the season of Thanksgiving and the Advent after that remember: We can be thankful because God has given first and God keeps on giving. Rejoice and be glad! God loves you and He proved it by giving the first and best gift of all, Jesus Christ our Lord. Have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving and a wondrous Advent.
